The horses charged AFTER the Man U bus had gone around the corner.

Re: Pathetic wankers throwing bottles at a bus.
I once threw a styrofoam cup of warm horlicks up the side of a transit van. Me mate luzzed an open capri sun at its wing mirror.

We didnt realise it at the time but it was carrying the Sussex County Lawn Bowls team to Penge Bowling Velodrome for the 8:00 pm 2007 Boules Intertoto Trophy. They were playing Rumania.

The Daily Mail got hold of it the next day and carried a two page centre spread of the lid of my horlicks landing on the drivers head through the smashed sunroof like a little beveragey cap - smattering his BO sod shirt with malty froth.

It wouldnt have been so bad if he hadnt lost control of the vehicle causing it to mount the pavement and run over both peers of a local jesuit church.

We each got put behind the door for that little caper, my door come in one morning and i got lifted off to pentonville for aggravated yeasty beverage propulsion. 3 months.

Me pal got six weeks for intentionally smashing a wing mirror off with a can of lilt and spraying capri sun juice out its little straw.

Seven hundred people commented on it on west ham online - most of whom were not there - and the whole thing was extensively photographed videod and made into documentaries and hollywood vines filmettes and instagram images by social bystanders.

We didnt give a fuck though because we was west ham - and we realised the media wanted to piss as hard and extensively as they could all over our last ever game and the night we'd had because the middle class hacks were frightened of a real proper london club and its support enjoying one last night of doing whatever we want and being the best. They wanted the narrative different. All about how unacceptable we were as opposed to who we are, what we have achieved, where we are going. They saw us growing, they do not like it.

Sussed you out. Your portrayal doesnt mean a fucking thing to us. Those there know and that is all that matters.

£40k's worth of damage!
I wasn't there but from the pictures shown there didn't appear to be that much damage
The coach didn't look like it had just been through the major battle zone, described on the news, & as I understand it none of the players were even slightly injured
You would have thought that a coach carrying millions of pounds worth of valuable footballers would have been a bit better built, for the sort of money being mentioned for repairs
Suppose someone really seriously wanted to attack the coach (ISIS, for example)
The minimum requirement would be bulletproof glass (never mind bottleproof!)

If anything there's not enough of this at football.

Purely those who haven't been anywhere near Upton Park having a moan up at how DISGSUTED and OUTRAGED they are on social media and the like...

yes, it is just a smashed coach though innit

It's not just a "smashed coach" though is it?

How often do you see a coach carrying a football squad get attacked by fans?

Re: Pathetic wankers throwing bottles at a bus.
I'm fucking bored of all this now.

A smashed coach window. Fucking wow.

Hardly Millwall in the League Cup 2009 when one of their lot nearly died.

Re: Pathetic wankers throwing bottles at a bus.
Could all have been avoided if the coach had delivered to another entrance or exit, easier for the police to get the job done, but it seemed that whoever was running the show for the police caused the crowd control situation. Stupid decision to try to run that coach through that crowd.

Even worse decision was to leave all their wagons parked up on Green St and totally ignore the situation building where they were deliberately causing the crush. Only when it got a bit heated did the drivers even acknowledge that the crowd was there and could be in bother.

You'd like to think that if anything bad happens the police will be there for you to advise or take action if needed, but they were pretty much fucking useless.

''Can't pretend it did not happen''

Agreed. As said, in the grand scheme of things it wasn't THAT bad, but it won't get brushed under the carpet, the club and the Police will need to be seen to be doing something.

Re: Pathetic wankers throwing bottles at a bus.
The outrage on both sides is a bit much at this point.

Picked the wrong night of media and against the wrong club, but in the grand scheme of things there is more damage and there are more people getting hurt, more seriously, ever day.

On the other hand, if you do stupid things even in a crowd, you often have to pay some consequences. Can't pretend it did not happen.

As norm and a few others have said.I don't give a toss how we are percieved around the globe.A few kids got hammered and launched a few bottles at the mighty Manu roadshow.
Big fucking deal?

Agreed, something that I wouldn't do but not going to have a pop at those who did. Not really fussed about how we are 'perceived around the world'.

Thought it was no big deal really ' anyone who was going in the 70's & 80's saw worse every week so as norm said it does not really register ' I was outside the Boleyn watching 30 years ago I would have been lobbing the bottles ' hope not too many get collared
PS the old bill were fucking useless

Chip shop
Correct.
Most of the regular away support have pretty much seen it all over yrs.
A few glasses thrown at a coach doesn't register.
Not my bag..but be fucked if I'm going to slag off a few kids for something like that.

I live abroad so don't go to any WHU games but wonder how many of our regular away supporters are shocked and outraged by this? Can't believe it would be many.
